This is a birch tree I've had pleasure to study some years from my balcony. This year it has gotten a new branch on top, which inspired me to follow the tree in midsummer and fall. I waited the whole winter for the snow to continue studying whether the branches seemed alive under the snow. We didn't get enough snow last winter to finish my study.
